RGTA® mode of action

Cacplic® relies on RGTA® technology, which focuses on protecting and restoring the extracellular matrix (ECM) — the essential framework that supports tissue repair.

When tissues are injured, natural signals and structural proteins within the ECM are rapidly degraded, slowing the healing process. RGTA® molecules act by replacing and safeguarding these components, allowing the ECM to recover its role as a supportive scaffold for regeneration.

By recreating the right micro-environment, Cacplic® enables cells to function effectively, accelerating natural repair and improving healing outcomes, even in chronic or complex wounds.

RGTA’s main action

RGTA® are polysaccharides (complex sugars). They are structural and functional biomimetics of natural heparan sulphates, but are resistant to degradation enzymes.

The primary action of RGTA® is to replace degraded heparan sulphates and, therefore, restore the ECM scaffold through direct physical interaction with proteins (collagens and glycoproteins). The resulting scaffold restoration helps to protect the communication peptides, improving better tissue regeneration (Cf. scheme n°3).
